Altus is partnership of entrepreneurs, financial professionals and engineers, with many years of experience in varying industries, coming together with a mission to build a sustainable future by being the catalyst for change in agriculture, recycling, renewable energy, waste management and sustainability.
David Leong has more than 20 years experience across various industries. Having been an entrepreneur in ICT and Sustainability, David’s has strong capabilities in identifying new opportunities and developing new business in the Asia Pacific region.
David co-founded Aretae Pte Ltd in 1996 and built the company into one of the leading internet and wireless consulting companies in Asia with over 200 employees in 4 countries. He was instrumental in the regional expansion of the company, personally setting up of offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. In 2000 David led the company to obtain in principal approval to list on the main board of SGX, the company raised $40M dollars from blue chip investors including Crimson Ventures, Keppel (K1 & Kepland) and Kerry Technology Group in a private deal valuating the company at over S$150M
In 2007, Aretae divested the technology business and went into the Carbon Finance as one of Singapore’s earliest Carbon Market participant. David’s ability to go into greenfield business led the company to be one of the leading developers of GHG Emission Reduction Projects to generate Carbon Credits in Singapore, securing over 50 projects in China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. David developed a good understanding in the Plantations Industry (Palm Oil), which has led the company to secure most of their projects in this sector. He was involved with acquisition & consolidation of other carbon developers in a S$600M Reverse Take Over offer by Oculus. He was also involved with M&A of Hydropower Power plants in China, and fund raising for renewable energy projects in the region.
Valentine or Tino (as he is known as) is the Managing Partner for Malaysia, formerly from Arthur Andersen & Co., Malaysia, has vast experience in corporate finance, project finance, strategy and performance management (balance scorecards) and capital markets. . He has worked as the Financial Director for a large plantation company and a listed property developer as Group Corporate Planner. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) degree and The Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification from the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
Tino was recently involved in many corporate fund raising exercises where he helped a listed companies raise new capital thru a share placement and also diversify into other businesses, and assisting in the acquisition of distressed assets and operating companies. He was also involved in an acquisition of a listed company in Sri Lanka. He served on the board of Asia Capital Ltd, a listed financial institution in Sri Lanka.
Chris Park is the Managing Partner for Altus JWC LLC. He has been instrumental in Altus’s business expansion in Korea before moving back to Silicon Vally. Altus JWC had been working with various technology companies in Healthcare, Biotech, Finance, Fleet Management and Infocomm Technology in Silicon Valley. Chris works closely with these clients In Mergers & Acquisitions and also Fund Raising. Chris’s prior experience in in Asia has enabled Altus to also provide assistance to help companies to expand into Korea, whether be it via introducing local joint venture partners who can open the market or by assisting to set-up overseas regional headquarters with local government support.
Patrick has more than 20 years experience in textile and viscose fibre business connecting all Indonesian spinning mill in using SPV viscose fibre. Patrick was a director of South Pacific Viscose and in 2017 becomes a commissioner of SPV which is part of Lenzing group. He started a sustainable clothing brand to create awareness of the Lenzing’s Tencel and Ecovero brand and also set up a new logistics division in 2017 which later became a part of the Salim group and increasing its valuation in terms of growth and expansion. Patrick’s experience in M&A involves the acquisition of Fibrechem a listed SGX company. Previously Patrick was involved in Carbon Finance and Trading as he help set up Aretae’s Indonesian subsidiary. Patrick maintains a strong business network in Indonesia and excels in developing new business opportunities.
Paul has over 20 years of professional experience in environment, energy and resource management fields. He started his career with one of the largest global consulting firm, URS Corporation , covering SE Asia region for mining, infrastructure and energy projects. He founded his own renewable energy venture and put together several platforms which focus on innovations and disruptive technologies within the framework of Circular Economy, Sustainable Development and Bioenergy domains. He holds a Masters in Science (MSc) degree in Geology from the University of Pune, India as well as two more degrees; Post Graduate Diploma in Earth Science Engineering from University of Tuebingen, Germany and an Executive MBA from the Asian Institute of Management, Philippines.
Mr. Sivaneswaran formerly from Bank Utama (M) Bhd with vast experience in credit assessment, finance, banking , strategy execution , performance management and risk management. He has vast exposure with clients in industries such as energy, oil & gas, logistics, maritime, telecommunication, renewable energy, hospitality, healthcare, information technology and entertainment. He holds a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) degree from University Malaya and a Master in Information Technology ( Multimedia Computing) from Multimedia University , Cyberjaya.
